THE SCALE

The scale (also called the scale length) is one of the most important measurements of a classical and flamenco guitar. It is defined as the distance between the edge of the nut and the center of the bridge saddle.

The most common measurements are:

650 mm
This is the standard scale length and the most common on concert guitars. It offers an excellent balance between comfort, string tension, and sound projection. This is the one we use for the vast majority of our models.
640mm /630mm
Called short scale length. These greatly facilitate fingering, reduce string tension, and are more comfortable for smaller hands, children, beginners, or people with a smaller build. The sound is usually somewhat sweeter and less projected.
660mm
Known as long scale length. It was very popular in the past (Andrés Segovia preferred it, for example). It creates greater tension on the strings, which increases projection and volume, but requires a bit more strength in the left hand. Ideal for large hands or for those seeking a very powerful and defined sound. Popularly used for flamenco guitars.
